Postby David Grimes » Jan 28, 2011 1:02 pm

Cavechat will be undergoing a routine update tonight and may be intermittently offline for a short period of time. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank You,

As you all can see Cavechat is now back online. I apologize for the extended downtime but we experienced a few problems during the forum update. The update has now been successfully installed and you should experience no further problems. Thank you for your patience.

Thank You,

Thanks David for looking after the Cavechat software updates. Looks like you were up late fixing a few problems.

Yeah it was pretty bad I started the update around 8pm and did not get the forum back up until about 4am. Its really funny, I had expected this to be a quick update with little problems, boy was I wrong.

Do you see any more brute force log-in attempts now with the new software installed? Actually, it's a little early to tell right now. Thanks again!

Just curious if there is any way to make the thread titles longer on the forum pages....it's cutting off a lot sooner than it used to.

Sorry the thread titles are set to the maximum length possible without manually editing the PHPBB style sheets which is likely to cause more trouble than its worth. I really hadn't noticed that they were cutting the titles shorter. I guess until the next update its just something we will have to live with sorry.

No biggie :) Just have to retrain my brain. It was more an initial shock as I was trying to find threads again and I didn't see all the words my brain was looking for, haha.

And yeah, not worth messing with stylesheets...I ran a rabbit forum for a while and updates and changing things like that around were so...grrrrr....lol I can't count the times I screwed stuff up.
