The latest issue of Advanced Rescue Technology has a nice article on the Austin, TX Fire Department Cave Rescue Team.

Good article, including several plugs for the NCRC. :goodjob:

The link appears to be broken. I was curious to read about the Austin folks, as they were a well-represented at the Carlsbad week-long NCRC several years ago.

I made a new quick link. Try this - http://tinyurl.com/2vd6y3m See pages 10-13. You can view it on screen or print it out, but unfortunately it seems to be blocked from saving to a hard drive.

If that doesn't work I've embedded the full link here

Carlsbad was more than a few years ago... it was 2003. Was that the last weeklong you attended? There have been a few changes. Could be time for a refresher!

Thanks, NZ. Nice article. And, for the record, I said "several," not "a few."

I stand corrected. "Several years" = 7 years. :shhh:

That is a very well written article. I assume the AFD people are professionals rather then volunteers?
