Greetings from New England

Postby Metlin » Aug 22, 2010 12:47 am

Hi, folks.

I'm a newbie "wannabe" caver from Boston. In a past life, I used to live in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and did some caving around there. I'd like to get started again, although it's been more than 5 years.

However, I do a lot of rock climbing, and have always been fascinated by caving. Since caving is a "closely related" sport, I figured I'd look at it more seriously.

I just mailed in my membership to the Boston Grotto, so hopefully I'll be able to go on a trip or two to explore some caves around here.

Cheers.

Hi, and welcome Metlin!

I often end up caving with people from Boston Grotto and/or the MIT Caving Club. SUOC and the Boston Grotto have been known to operate joint get-togethers or "Speleofests". Hope to meet you on a trip some time.

Hi Metlin

To get to know the various groups caving in New England and the Northeast you should go to the Fall Northeastern Regional Organization meeting, the Sept 11 weekend in Pittsfield, Mass.

The fall 2010 NRO information has been posted on the following website:
