Looking for a guano shot

Postby cavedoc » Apr 2, 2010 12:12 pm

I am working on a textbook chapter that will be talking about Histoplasmosis. It would benefit from a photo of a caver up close and personal with (insectivorous) guano. If used you would get photo credit in the book. There is no fee available. If you have one you are willing to share please PM me.

How about this one Roger? I'm not sure if this particular species causes histo...
Unfortunately the black insects are not as apparent as the orange ones and there is no size reference nor caver:

Balincaguin comes from the Zambal phrase, "Bali lan caguing" meaning "house of bats."
This was the former name of the Municipality of Mabini, Pangasinan, when it was part of the Province of Zambales (of Mt. Pinatubo Volcano fame).

When we visited Lobatse cave in Botswana one of the concerns was histo- they'd had know cases from that cave, the geologist from the National museum while interested in our endeavour, declined to join us because he'd previously suffered through being pretty sick which was diagnosed as histoplamosis. We all wore masks and no one in our group got sick. You can see the pics at http://captnemo.smugmug.com/Travel/Botswana-and-South-Africa/Lobatse/1304588_hUoeR/
Except for the ones I've credited to Bill or Tom, those are all shots I took and have the originals of and would be happy to send to you.
