With the recent moratorium on caving being requested by the state of Virginia...Is there going to be a VAR? I've heard some talk of it being cancelled. Is this true?

Does this new VOLUNTARY moratorium on caving by the powers that be have an effect on the VAR???

Despite the moratorium, we will have plenty of other activities for the weekend. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Via Ferrata on Saturday.

Even with limited cave trips, we're trying to make this VAR one that perhaps highlights the non-caving side of caving...if that makes sense.

At the very least, this is a chance for cavers to get together for the weekend, relax, camp, and maybe get some firsthand info face-to-face instead of through the rumor mill.

To the best of my knowledge, yes, Grand will be open. However, access for VAR attendee's will not be free, but tickets will be available at a reduced rate.

I will find out for sure on Saturday, April 4th, and post back here.
