Thanks for the info.

I can run my RV with no hook ups...I'm just surprised that a campground that seems to cater to the NASCAR crowd and their RV's wouldn't offer full hook ups.

See y'all on Friday!

After living in Wyoming for awhile, I feel lucky if there a flushing toilet within a twenty mile radius of the campground. To give you an idea: "The nearest Walmart from Jackson, WY is 92 miles west of Jackson, WY in Idaho Fall, ID".

Looking forward to it! I'm heading down Wednesday evening and plan to do some caving Thursday before getting to Bristol. Can't wait to swing by Pal's for a burger, frenchy fries, and tea. :woohoo: :eat:

An odd question...
Will there any wireless connectivity to the internet at the campsite?

I find it interesting that Evan mentions a flush toilet within 20 miles and we go to the other extreme of wireless internet. We are a diverse bunch! :bananabat: :big grin: :bananabat:

I put away my old Darth Caver avatar and switched it to my real face. No improvement, but now people can recognise me at VAR. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the cavechat folks, so do introduce yourself if you see me.

Thanks

Dwight

Come say "hi" to me. I'll be hanging mostly on vendor's row with my hubby who will be vending (KVART). If I'm walking around the campground I will probably be led by one or two large 4 year old black lab mix dogs (dogs names are Mork and Mindy). Since the event allowed dogs we are bring them along.

I don't believe I've ever found many wifi hot spots on the Tennessee side of Bristol. Not near the racetrack anyway. However, with the number of people that invade Bristol for the Nascar events, you'd think there would be.

I can usually get a wifi connection in the parking lots of motels. There are a couple near the Track.

Come by the climbing contest and get in a climb! Berta and I will have the rope up and running climbs on Friday 4:00 pm to around 8:00 pm for those who want to get a climb in but plan to cave on Saturday.
Saturday climbing will be 10:00 – 5:00.

PMI has donated a 600 ft. rope so that we can have contest climbs in both 30 and 120 meters! Sit-stand, ropewalkers and knots are welcome.

We expect you there! :banana_yay:

For anyone interested, I will have a few of these on hand....

The Birmingham Grotto celebrated its 50th Anniversary earlier this month. If you attended, you would have received a copy of the Birmingham Grotto 50th Anniversary Book which was edited by David Howell. After a brief introduction, David takes us year-by-year from when the grotto was chartered on May 7, 1958 through 2007. The 76 page journey is augmented with a number of photos, 16 of which are printed in color. The full-color, wrap around cover is saddle-stitched onto the manuscript.

We have about 25 books left and are offering them for $10 each ($15 postpaid via US Priority Mail).

You can see the covers here:
