Ace brand carabiners

Has anyone heard of or used any ace brand locking carabiners. Particularly the model called Spirit.

I have found these rather cheap and I am curious about the quality. I imagine its kinda you get what you pay for but I could be wrong but who wants to chance that.

I have done some online research about them and they seem to be linked to black diamond but I am not positive on this.

Any info is appreciated.

Those carabiners are usually used for fall protection for industrial aplications. They do have a rating on them for industrial standards depending on the requierments. Like OSHA, MSHA, Plus all fall protection for indusrial must have a ANSI rating. I don't know how much they cost but I can't see them being any cheaper than Petzl, Black diamond, CMC, etc. i could be wrong

A friend of mine somehow purchased 10 of these and is willing to sell them to me for $4 ea.

At that price it seems to good to be true but I have seen them they appear to be just as nice as any other locking carabiner on the cheaper end like the petzl attache but it doesn't have the lock indicator.

Assuming they haven't been smashed around, I can't see a problem. Ace Metal Products appear to be a reputable manufacturer.

One time I got a great clearance deal on a few small locking Climb High carabiners - I think the store had them in a $3 bin along with a ton of non-lockers. I only wish I could have found more!

Thanks for all the input on these carabiners.
They are all brand new I don't know if they are an old model or what the reason they were sold so cheap but I will probably buy them all.
