Bat at work

Postby jumar » Jun 28, 2007 8:24 am

There's a bat by the door to where I work this morning! I think I'm more excited about it than most the people here. :woohoo:

Just make sure that everyone knows not to bother it.
I saw a literal bat roost underneath a sign in Provo. Knew it was a roost because the sidewalk directly underneath was littered with guano. Went in to the building to talk to the owners of the sign to ask them if they were aware of it... they said  that they had ordered an exterminator to take care of them soon.
I told them that they needed to have a biologist come out and take a look to make sure that the bats were not on the endangered species list (they wouldn't have understood "threatened") and that by killing them would've been illegal.
Dunno if the guy took it to heart or not...hopefully they did. There are bat specialist at BYU's biology dept I believe... hopefully they contacted them. Hopefully.

Looks to me to be of the little brown bat species. Wings look tattered though. Odd.
