TIA

Hi,

Looking at Bob's list you can see the number of entries for Mexico which in fact are concentrated in the state of Quintana Roo. That is the state that runs along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula from Cancun in the north and down to the Belize border. The state includes Cozumel island. If you are interested in those cave more specifically, then check out the Quintana Roo Speleological Survey

Enjoy!

Bob's list probably should be a list a longest dived or mapped underwater caves. Dyetraces of karst systems don't seem to count. If they did, Roubidoux probably wouldn't make the list.

Bob's list is based on surveyed lengths, etc.

No, dye traces and the distrance to the resurgence would not count.

What about the distance a duck travels underground?

Like a quack-quack duck? Is that some sort of biological dye-trace alternative? :-)

Cave passages that are too small for humans don't count for cave records, so why should dye-traces that have never been dived by a cave-diver? Makes sense to me. There's underground watercourses that sink in the Rockies and rise up against the Canadian Shield, but...

Note that there is a difference between the longest dives, and the longest amount of underwater passages e.g. an underwater maze.

I think it all depends on what color you dye the duck before you put it in the cave stream...

Just get your ducks from Ms. Milhorn....

I just looked and the song referenced above is no longer listed under the cave ballads section. What happened???? It's one of my favorites. I was lucky enough to see Dave Foster perform that particular song, as well as many others, at Speleofest last year. Tons of fun!

I don't believe that was ever entered in the NSS Salons.
