Here is why we get more photons out the front end. Optics tend to be in the mid 80s when it comes to efficiency while reflectors can reach 97 percent efficiency. Then there is some light lost while passing through the window.

Interesting.
But, I'm still wondering about your avatar. I thought you're a guy...

I'm guessing wife...
I can definitely see how reflectors beat optics as far as no loss of lumens. You gotta figure that the factory optics are wasting at least some lumens lighting the interior of the housing. I don't need the circuit board lit up, thank you...

Hey Jon,
Is the Stenlight ebay store apart of your network, a friend, or something?
http://stores.ebay.com/StenLight-Store
I was thinking of picking up some stuff from there.

Thanks F-H-M.
Knew I'd read something about it before but was too lazy to "research" it.
Congrats on the lovely "avatar", Jon.

There are some comments about the Sten Reflectors in the Stenlight passaround thread.

I'm sure it's a stunning likeness! Bunnell would like to use her in his book, probably!
