Anyone doing much backlit shots these days? Here is one we did in TR last weekend. I snazzed it up in PS to give it different look. Kinda like what you might see on a cave movie cover or something.

Killer shot, Realms!
Viewing your foto gave me an idea for another. What if one of the cavers in the center of the silhoutted group were "painted-in" with light from another source? Perhaps the others would be facing away from the lens and the featured caver would be facing the camera. It could produce a "with a little help from my friends" effect. Always looking for something a little different.

Here is a multi-flash backlit shot (sort of?) that amazed me when I saw how it came out. It was a self portrait, too, with the camera on a tripod, lens open and I flashed as I walked down the passage.

The elliptical passage is typical of Holloch.

that pic has an interesting feel too it. Its very artsey. I do a lot of ghosting some deliberate some not. But yeah you can get some interesting results sometimes.
Thanks for sharing. Also thanks for the complements on the TR backlit shot. Phill I used one of JV's old Lumadynes to light it up. Might bring back a few memories for ya. Lets go take some more! :-)

Very cool shots! The blurring effect really does look like something you'd see on a movie poster or book cover.
Here's a back-lit shot I took a week or two ago that I think came out ok. It was lit by a single M3B bulb about 30 or 40 feet behind the model.

Adleedy, were you in My Cave recently? I've wanted to photograph the waterfall for a while, but the times I've been there it either wasn't flowing or the passage leading to it was flooded!

Here is a vertical backlit....err well bottom lit I suppose. heh heh :-)
