No, I haven't used it caving. I consider it more of a camp light.

I got one and was able to use it in cave recently. It worked well in tight quarters but didn't give much light in wide open areas. The power switch is mounted on the bottom side of the light and is difficult to use while wearing gloves. Don't know about battery life yet. I used the high beam for 6 hours without any noticible dimming.

I suspect that I'll be using it as a secondary in the future.
