They've asked Milo and me to perform the belly dancing this year. We call ourselves the quarter-ton of fun. :panic:

I saw Milo RAMEN NOODLE WRESTLE at the 1998 NSS Convention. Don't think I could handle him BELLY DANCING :hairpull:

Remember the pre-reg deadline. . . must be post marked by Sept 1. . . hurry to the post office.

Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, 0200 on Friday night and after 1600 (4 PM) on Saturday you cannot get in unless you are pre-registered.

The Cave-In is always a lot of fun . . . but remember the rule. . . "what happens there stays there" :tonguecheek:

Hey what time does registration open up on Thursday?

oh and also I may be celebrating on Saturday night, currently I have been to 47 different caves, so I may be hitting number 50 during the fall cave in.

well my wife and I both only got Friday off that week. We MAY drive up Thursday night, but more than likely we'll leave Friday morning.

So are we going to have a cave-chat get-together?

There will be a "Cavers Choice" Map Salon at the Dogwood City Grotto
booth/salon area on Vendors Row during the TAG Fall Cave-In.
Attendees will get to vote for their favorite maps. Voting will occur
all day Saturday and the results will be available Sunday morning
before the booth is packed up. So please bring your latest cave maps
to show at the Cave-In!

Rules:

1. There will be two categories, large caves and small caves - the
cutoff in length will be determined based on the entries.

2. Maps that have already won a major award (Best of Show or First
Place) at an NSS Salon (NSS Convention, SERA Winter Business
Meeting...) are ineligible for the contest (you already got
recognition). Lesser awards such as honorable mention or merit awards
are okay.

3. Maps cannot be more than 5 years old.

4. Any maps that don't meet criterion 2 and 3 along with any
unfinished maps can be entered "For Show Only" and will be displayed
as space permits.

5. Maps should be dropped off by 9 a.m. EDT on Saturday morning to
the salon tent to insure that the map is up when voting starts.

6. Please enter only copies of maps as damage to maps is possible.

7. Voting will start around 10 a.m. EDT on Saturday morning and will
end at 10 p.m. EDT on Saturday night.

8. All Cave-In attendees are allowed one ballot in which they can
vote for their first and second favorite maps in both the large and
small cave categories.

9. Maps will get two points for each first-place vote, and one point
for each second-place vote. The map with the most points in each
category will win first place in that category.

10. Number of maps awarded additional "places" (second, third...)
will be determined based on the number of entries. And who knows,
there might be prizes.

Looking forward to seeing your great maps at the Cave-In.

If you have any questions, just contact me at kvart at, uh, um.... earthlink.net.

Brent Aulenbach will be coordinating the salon.

Well, I just placed the wine order to make sure we have lots of wine for the party! Since it was announced on the board this time, I imagine we will have more people coming out to sample the wares of Vineyard Brands- I'll have wines from South Africa, Australia, Argentina, Italy, France, and even California- but this time, I will also bring a small jar for donations. I do get the wine cheap, but it still isn't free!

Can't wait to see you all there! Don't forget to bring a cup with you! :toast:
