By popular demand: an IGNORE button

Postby Wayne Harrison » May 10, 2006 5:58 pm

You'll notice an extra button at the bottom of each post:

Image

Clicking this button under a post will place that person on your ignore list and you will no longer see their posts. Instead, you'll see the message:

"This person is on your ignore list."

Think of it as a :notlistening: button.

The IGNORE button will be replaced by an unignore button on that person's blank posts:

Clicking it will remove them from your ignore list.

It's hoped this will allow people a little more leeway in what they chose to read and see on the forum.

Is there no end to the capabilities of this forum? :D

I know a few people who are getting that real soon now.

Thanks, Wayne.

Another button that would be nice is a 'Report this post'. I saw one the other day that was totally against the rules that I tried to report about. Since I couldn't find the button I posted about it being against forum rules. Later that day it had been removed.

Thanks, Wayne! That Ignore button has come in handy already - two clicks, and a bunch of threads are much improved. Now if there was - hey, is this thing on? Can anybody hear me? Hello?

Wonderful Wayne, an option that will serve beyond it's implicit function.

But one thing...

Those who choose to employ the "ignore" status should announce a list of those whom he has ignored; otherwise the ignored won't know that they are being ignored and might answer back, and that would be rude.

Now here's a happy thought!

Enforce the No Personal Insult rule more strenuously.

Then those who would have been ignored, might not.

God knows I love that man.

You seem to differ with him on the "marriage amendment" though...

Jeez, Billy. I said I love him, I don't want to marry him; unless, of course, he divorces his current wife and becomes available, then, I guess we could get married in Vermont or Oregon another one of those funky states that allow marriage between sundry entities and we could live happily married forever, assuming, of course, that George wants to marry me as well.

Well, why wouldn't he?
