I'm Baaack!

Postby GeocaverDan » Jun 13, 2021 2:57 pm

Hello everyone! I am an old-timer caver from Central Oregon. In the 80’s my friend’s and I caved with Charlie Larson and started the Oregon High Desert Grotto. I then almost died of Hodgkin’s Cancer and left caving for a while. I survived! And became a BLM Park Ranger in the Cascade mountains of Oregon where I had only 1 cave in my resource area. I also did programs at LABE (Lava Beds National Monument) and was asked to apply as their lead Interpretive Ranger back in 2013. I instead headed for warmer weather and joined the Kartchner Caverns team in Arizona. A few years back I had a massive heart attack that required me to take an early retirement down here in SE Arizona. I don’t do much caving anymore but still like to keep up on what’s happening in the sport.

I actually live 130 miles East of Tucson so I don't do much with them. I'm more involved with the Coshise Cavers but they are still 80 miles away so I'm more of an occasional guest.
