Oh, oh! A hiccup at Sullivan Cave in Indiana

A young student was locked inside of Sullivan Cave in Indiana for 60-hours as the rest of his caving group thought he had gone out and locked up the gate. This article shares what he did during those hours. One thing that doesn't totally, make sense from the article is a picking the lock by his parents, rather than them calling in the troops or the explorer's group at the university there. Weird!

I thought that was weird too! Especially since he was in there for 60 hours! Also whoever the leader of that trip was probably should make this their last trip led. Who leads a large group and doesn't do a head count?????Just sayin'

Not only that Steve, but there was a vehicle left behind. Definitely a problem that shouldn't have happened. But it did and hopefully they'll gain some insight from it .

You're not reading it right. He picked the lock, not his parents. They reported him missing. And there wasn't a vehicle left, they just found some clothes (his clothes) in the car they took there before.

But damn, that cave is in town. Must have been frustrating with all those cars zipping by! No caver left behind!

Yeah, you're definitely correct, Gindling. Reading too quickly with that phrase, made it look a little different to the pea-brain of mine.

Well that is one very lucky guy. Remind me to never go on a trip with the person that led that one! It says hes getting treated for rabies? Did he get bit by a bat or rat? Or possibly eat one?

Follow-up on Oh, oh! A hiccup at Sullivan Cave in Indiana

The college suspended the caving club for now. And, looking at the NSS IO, apparently they weren't a grotto,

I don't believe they were ever a grotto since the Bloomington Indiana Grotto was in the same, small city. Also, I happen to have my 2007 NSS MM at work and they are not listed in that year.
