It seems that it would offer one great advantage -- change-overs would be a snap! :rofl: Just start pedaling in the other direction!

Hummm, only one point of contact on the wall. I wonder if he made it down without going sideways? Terrific balance if he did.

Now that MIGHT work... try it Aussie style rappelling (facing downward) and zip your way down...

I've a buddy of mine who wanted to use rollerblades and aussie style down the face of a smooth dam... nuts to be sure... he never did it but he dreamt of it. geez :roll:

Pit Cycling

It reminds me of the bicycle powered winch used by Haroun Tazieff and Marcel Loubens in the descent of the Gouffre de la Pierre Saint-Martin in the Pyrenees in the early fifties as described by Tazieff in "Caves of Adventure". Hundreds of feet down with a steel cable and parachute harness... Jeez.
Lance Armstrong missed his calling. He could be hauling us in and out of pits.
