Going Strapless

What's a good way to mount a light light an APEX or HP-25 to a helmet? Which method(s) has/have people found more successful? I'm tired of keeping up with straps.

I haven't done it but if I were going to mount my Apex strapless I would drill some holes then string some thin bungy through them to hold the battery case and light in place. Cable ties might be an alternative.

Problem is there is no standard for placement of holes for screws for lights so if you changed lights you might have to drill more holes; not a good road to go down. And FWIW you void your warranty as soon as you assault your helmet with a drill. I usually void my warranty the day I take my helmet home.

This is how I mounted my old Apex on my helmet long ago.

I void the warranty by drilling any new helmet pretty much the first day I own it.

Believe it or not it works pretty well, i have yet to hit a ceiling... having said that if I go into a tight cave i typically wont use this light.

600 lumens. Battery built in.
