Plastidip Question

Postby DawgsgoCaving » Dec 18, 2014 2:59 pm

Ok so I just got a pair of neoprene gloves for a trip this Saturday and I was thinking of spraying them with some leftover plastidip I bought for my kneepads. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? These gloves wear quickly from being onrope a lot, so I'm wondering if adding some plastidip would make them last longer. The obvious concern is whether adding the coating would mess up the grip and make it difficult to use my rappel rack.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience about this?

Thanks

Where do your gloves normally wear from rope?

For me, rope typically only wears a small area at the base of thumb and forefinger.

Yup same place. Maybe I'll just apply the coating to that area
