IDAHO Guidebook content contributers needed ...

Postby Lisa Bauman » Feb 6, 2014 1:52 am

I am creating a Idaho-related guidebook for the All-Girl's Cave Trip publication and am seeking someone to help me get photos of the caves we will be visiting and help me finish the descriptions for the caves that I can't find. I am 1/2 done. Dave Bunnell graciously donated a few images and several people have helped me with descriptions. Anyone interested? Here is what I have left ...

I trust you are consulting the 1999 NSS Convention guidebook? I believe all of those caves are in there.

There are very few pictures of a very few of the caves she mentioned in the guidebook. Though there are most of the maps.

I need permissions for the maps and have had difficulty reaching those who can do this. Is anyone on here that can help me?

Thank you for responding to my request.

I have sent emails out to all the cartographers and am waiting for permission. The main map that I am concerned about is the one produced and copywrited by the now disbanded MAGIC VALLEY GROTTO: Pigeon Pit (Pigeon Hole) 1997 guidebook. I am considering reprinting it and citing the source. So far no local grotto in the area seems adverse to the idea, but no one has the explicit right to grant permission and no names are listed on the map to reach specific cartographers. Does anyone have a suggestion on how this should be handled? Also, I am still unable to locate maps of Shoshone Pit #2 and Hole to Hell Caves. I hear that Magic Valley Grotto produced maps of these too. Any advice will be very helpful.

Thanks!
Lisa
