Hidden Caverns

I had a bit of a puzzler for you experienced cavers out there (leastwise it certainly puzzled me). When you have a limestone dome, that is known to support caverns, yet has no known open entrance how would you go about getting in? To make it even tougher, there is a village on top of said limestone dome.

A wise old caver once told me "caves are many......but entrances are few"

GroundquestMSA: Well, there have been openings in the past, yet they all have since been sealed up. While there have been individuals who claim to have gotten in, they have all since passed on. Also, most of the openings occurred through the digging of wells or other such accidental situations. Frankly, I don't know if there is a naturally occurring entrance.

caverdan: That sounds like some good advice!
