Postby caverdan » Sep 13, 2013 10:41 am

Registration is now open for the May 17-24th, 2014 NCRC week long seminar. Could you please announce it at the next grotto meeting?
http://www.omegaresponders.org/NCRC2014/
You can print out the brochure if you like. We have also set up a facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/Ncrc2014
Registration Includes:
8 Days of Training
Meals for the duration of the Seminar
Lodging in Cabins at Camp Golden Bell.

Camp Golden Bell is located 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs, high in the mountains above town. Training will include trips to Williams Canyon in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Williams Canyon is owned by Cave of the Winds and is home to the Williams Canyon Project, which is sponsored by the NSS.

About the Seminar:
This seminar consists of extensive classroom instruction and fieldwork in all phases of cave rescue including underground environment, vertical rescue, hauling systems, extrication techniques, medical management, communication systems, and the organization and management of cave rescue operations. Basic and advanced course material is presented for students who typically include cavers, emergency services personnel, and emergency managers.
The seminar provides approximately 100 hours of instruction over eight days. Its classes are physically strenuous and participants must be in good physical health. Students should be prepared to work in difficult situations, both above and below ground.
Please sign up early as we anticipate a large turn out for this seminar. This is the first time the National NCRC week long training has been held in Colorado. We hope to make your experience an enjoyable one.

I don't know if it's possible to get less sleep then I did in my IQ class.
It will certainly be less nerve racking.

Glad to hear folks are signing up. I know for folks east of the Mississippi it's a haul, but it'll be great. And caving in Colorado will be great!

Regardless of where you normally cave, there's always something to be learned in another area.
