Aside from some stuppid stuff most of those situations could happen.
This movie should be used as part of a liability waver.
Larry E. Matthews wrote:What is particularly sad, is that one of the women cave divers in the movie just died in a cave diving accident in Australia.
You didn't see her face in the movie.........she was in some of the underwater scenes with full gear and mask on.
You can find out more in the Accidents Forum.

Do cave divers ever wear full face masks like that?
JR-Orion wrote:And the gear they were wearing when the first girl bought it... do rebreathers not have an alternative air source? Or some way to safely offer air to your buddy?
John Lovaas wrote:Funny that you just watched Sanctum, Jasen- it showed up last week at my house as part of my Netflix queue.
I can't motivate myself to watch it; I have this mental list of a myriad of 'that's not correct' moments that others have shared with me. Of course, the technical advisors didn't want to piss off James Cameron, and James Cameron doesn't strike me as much of a listener, anyway... ;--)

James Cameron's input into the film was the lending of the camera and his name for advertising. This was Andrew Wight's film.
I enjoyed the film myself. Half of it was exactly as cave diving is, half of it was completely preposterous. But I like (some) James Bond movies and they're very preposterous.
