Convention 2012

Postby chh » Jun 21, 2012 5:18 pm

So, most of my participation on this website is in this forum particularly. I recognize a lot of folks here by internet profile only. I'm sort of an analog dude in a digital world and would like to change this. Anyone else here going to convention and be interested in having, I don't know, a real conversation?

I'll be there! Pumping beer at the Howdy Party 5:30-7:30 so come say hello.

We should have a sticker for our name tags denoting a CaveChat member. We've talked about this before but I don't think ever got our act together.

Here's an idea: Convention-going Cavechatters go here to copy the CaveChat logo and print it on a little sticker or bit of paper. Bring it with you and stick it on your name badge. Then we can recognize each other! :waving:

Anyone clever enough to do a couple pages of logos on a self adhesive labels? Then you could leave a couple sheets at the NSS Bookstore and put a notice in the daily rag for CaveChatters to stop by to pick one up for their name badges. :wtg:

Cheryl, that's an awesome idea, but I'm going to miss the howdy party. Can't get there until wednesday. I might just print out my avatar and stick it on my shirt.
Guess I'll make the wed. night party though...

Tried that a few times, but it never really seems to catch on. Maybe this year? Unfortunately I won't be making it to this one, but I hope y'all have fun. :waving:

I won't make it to the Howdy Party (probably). But I'll be there for part of the convention. I think my badge will say "Squirrel Girl." So there probably won't be any question, even though I won't have a Cavechat logo.

Just a quick update on the BOG Business at Convention so far:

1.) We had an AMAZING work session on Sunday with regard to the Strategic Plan. Expect it to be ratified on Friday! :banana_yay:

Our OVP, Dave Luckins, was swooning after the meeting was over about how great our current Board is. :kewl:

2.) Bill Jackson, of the Augusta Cave Masters, was voted to serve as a Director for the final year of one of the two slots which were made vacant by reservations. I'm biased, but I think he's going to be an awesome asset to an already strong Board.

I'm fired up!

OK, I'm out of the loop. . . I assume in the above comment you meant resignations not reservations.

I had heard that Mark Joop resigned his position but who else resigned?

Congrats on getting Bill Jackson on the BOG, I remember he did a great job as a proxy.

At 2007 Convention in Indiana Scotty Fee and some other Cavechatters had Black&White Neanderthal man in a Cave Helmet sticker to apply to the Convention Badge. Guess the Geico Cave Man TV Commercials , sort of BURNT that out eventually.

I know, I know... I've been reading about the chaos from afar while enjoying the nice cool summer weather up here in Alaska.
