What else are you interested in ??

Postby Cody JW » May 30, 2012 6:50 pm

I was just wondering what else cavers on this forum are interested in other than caving. Other outdoor activities or sports ect. I ask this because I have found most cavers are not into spectator sports.

Cars. But not so much since caving. I is a gear head. There is nothing on my 5.0 mustang I can't tear apart and rebuild. I'm also into remodeling my house. I has no choice in the matter but to be a badass carpenter lol

I'm a big fan of baseball, playing and listening to on the radio. It's also the only sport I'm interested in and I follow the Reds. :nyah:
I try to play guitar. Guitars sound good in caves.
I wish I had Chad's car skills, and at work I often wish I didn't share his construction skills.

I started caving as a kid 40 years ago. Its still what I'd rather do more than anything else. I was into sports as a teenager some until girls and guitars. Cars were never my thing as It was more fun tinkering with girls and guitars. I do like building. I built my own home, barn and all outbuildings on our property. Thats what I do for a living so it was just like being at work! I'm a backpacker and trail builder/maintainer. I like sewing custom cave gear for other cavers. I absolutely love working my horses. They're my big puppies! I love being a father to my 4 children. I love being a PappyMud. I love being a husband to my lovely wife. I really like my guitars. I absolutely LOVE to cave! :big grin:

It seems like I never go into air-filled caves anymore. Just came back from a super fun week of cave diving in FL.

I used to be a big mountain biker. But since I don't have time to drive to the trails, I'm doing a lot more road riding these days. I recently got a unicycle, but still can't quite ride it.

I'm big into photography these days.

Books, movies, music, and video games. Astronomy too, but I don't get out with my telescope as much as I should.

I used to be into cars as well. Did a few performance upgrades and went to some test and tune nights at the quarter mile strip. But ever since adding a certain accessory to my car- a kid's carseat- I haven't spent a cent on car parts.

I used to hang out there as a kid. My dad had a car that he, my brother and my sister raced. But he sold it before I was old enough to drive.

I like hiking, fishing, canoeing or kayaking, cooking, playing with my grandkids and occasionally going to the drag strip with my husband . . . since WNS have been doing a lot less caving.
