Info on Kong Duck ascender

Postby Ernie Coffman » May 23, 2012 8:06 pm

Some of our SAR folks are interested in the Kong Duck ascender - http://www.mtntools.com/cat/rclimb/ascend/kongduck.htm - so has anyone on the list tried these little guys out; and, what's your opinion, if so? :bat sticker:

Thanks for your response, Gary. Hopefully, we'll have more folks that will enter into this discussion. As far as adding the biner to the Kong Duck, there's more savings in weight--I guess you could say--compared to a Petzl , CMC, Jumar, etc. Normally, folks are using a Prussic, but for some reason or other, they've found this Kong Duck and thought it might be the "Cat's Meow," so time will tell.
