hp 10 vs 11

ok who has both or at least has the pleasure of fiddleing with both. What are the differences hows the comparable output ect. I love my hp10 and in the market for a new light as my kids hardcase bit the dust.

I would go for a Spark or Zebra ( sorry Dean ) if you want to spend the same amount of money.

I have the hp10. HP11. Hp20. Spark st6-500cw. Zebra h600 and the zebra h600w. While the zebras and spark are much brighter. Flooding bad ass lights they require changing to a different battery setup.

The hp11 is an upgraded hp10. Bigger head unit like the 20. Easy adjustment like the 20. But a short cord like the 10 and a better battery case than both. The hp11 is a spot. Light. No ambient but brigt.

I prefer my zebras hands down. Much much lighter and extremely compact.

Like Chad said they are more compact and the Spark is around 500 Lumens and the Zebra is over 700. Both are similar price as the Fennix. I own an HP-10 and use it on pit yo yos. I would rather have the Spark or Zebra but I bought the HP-10 before the others came out. Now you have to be like Chad and get lights every year to keep up with current Tech. I do like that the HP-10 runs off AAs. All the newer brighter lights run off 18650 or CR 123s . OR you could spend around 550 bucks and get a Rude Nora ( 850 Lumen Max) or over 1000 for a Scurion ( over 1000 Lumen max)and have a light that will take tech a few years to catch up with. I would love to have either one of those. A few lucky folks on this forum have those.

impressive, however commonality with AAs is more important to me, besides anything brighter than my current fenix would be distracting for the wonderful folks i cave with. lol . Mainly i just wanted to make sure the 11 wasn't going to be a improved version of the ten (like cheaper to make and more corners cut). If it stands up to how my hp10 has performed i will be super happy. that thing is bullet proof.

The 11 is an upgraded 10 I would say. But they took the best of the 10 and 20 and made the 11. I just don't like how pure spot Lightish it is.

^agreed. Spot is way to tight on the hp. The spark has a nice big spot and spill

I kind of prefer the spotty lights just for pit yo yos where I am not doing much horizontal traversing. For horizontal I like the wide angle glow with a spot in the middle. For a light that runs off AAs I do like the HP-10. I keep two Ecrins with a light hard mounted on each, one for yo yos and one for horizontal.

All this talk and I'm not thinking beyond "I might send in my Stenlight for an upgrade in a year or two...." Of course, I have the advantage that only a few local caves need more than a 2AA Maglite to exit.
