New Caver

Postby MDiver429 » Jan 26, 2012 2:39 pm

Hi my name is Marissa, I live in High Springs, Florida. I cave dive a lot. I actually moved to Florida from Pennsylvania to cave dive. However, recently I started checking out some dry caves and I love them to! I want to meet people and do some caving! I will be heading to TAG are this weekend to check out some horizontal caves. I am also a NSS member and I am actually the NSS-CDS Social Chairperson and put together and help out with all the socials. I am also a multi-media designer so if anyone ever needs help designing anything let me know! I want to start checking out more caves and I don't mind the drive to tag area.

Welcome to caving. Sounds like you will be getting around a bit. Lots of great people are in your future, and you in theirs. Enjoy!

cave diving is so much easier than dry caving....add air, dump air vs repel, climb

Oh i agree the getting around in the cave while diving is easy! I have really enjoyed dry caving so far, and I also love cave diving :) I'll be heading to TAG for four days next weekend! I can't wait

I was a cave diver turned dry caver. And actually not far from you in Gainesville. I'll let ya know if I go on any cave trips or here of anything planned. Do you kayak?

I can vouch for Marissa as a strong caver with good vertical skills and fine technique, and an appropriate conservation ethic. I was fortunate to join up with her and a couple of other cavers recently for a couple days and a couple of caves in Northern Alabama and southern Tennessee. I had a blast, and it was a pleasure meeting and caving with her. I look forward to meeting her in northern Florida for cave diving in the near future.
