Here's an interesting device. Anyone had a chance to play with it?

It looks like something made for canyoning . I have seen variations of the figure 8 that kind of looks like this. These variations say they are for canyoning. I could be wrong though.
It only takes one person to surrender a dog to a kill shelter ,but it takes many to rescue it.

I finally acquired one. My back-order was still showing but a general search on the vendor's site couldn't find it. Obviously there was something wrong with their on-line store. I cancelled the order and got one elsewhere.

That said, I have a huge backlog to go through before I can try this one out and add it to my site. I'm clearly not doing a very good job of maintaining my site any more; in fact, I'm not doing the job at all, and I'm not happy about that  .

And with what we pay you to do that job. Oh wait, it's a volunteer position. Never mind. Seriously, we do appreciate the time you do give.

Sounds like something I need to pick up... being just a tad over 185lbs (yeah right... more like 225).

I've used mine for a few canyon runs and I really love it it. I'd choose it over a piraña or 8 for nearly every application.

Most significantly I like the different friction settings for rappel ("right side up" or "upside down")

I haven't tried the ascending feature. (I probably should, just in case) But it looks like a lot of work when you're rolling with frogging gear anyway.
