A little history for Carlsbad

Postby Ernie Coffman » Dec 27, 2007 12:32 am

Here's a link, taking you down to Carlsbad, where Ansel Adams pictures will be shown.

His work is outstanding and these should prove interesting, for they were done way back when.

Happy New Year to one and all...and have a great caving year. :patriotic2:

This is a good thing. That the works of such a renowned photographer will be brought to light on this particular and spectacular National Monument.
I had a little frown reading how some of the photos needed restoration work because they were in storage too long. Made me wonder... why didn't anyone think of this before?

Glad it's being done now.

NSS members, you're supporting this project! :kewl:
The NSS granted $5,000 to the Cavern Arts Project to preserve and exhibit the cave art collection at Carlsbad. :woohoo: The money came from the NSS Publication Trust Fund.

(The Fund primarily supports special features or enhancements in the NSS News and Journal. It is supported entirely by donations and earlier this year received a significant legacy from the estate of Ron Simmons)

Hey, that's great news! Great artists like Ansel Adams and others
needs to be on display rather than hidden away gathering dust.
