Dunbar Cave - Tennessee

Postby Larry E. Matthews » May 4, 2013 9:30 am

Nashville Grotto member Colin Dunn has informed me that the State of Tennessee has a contract on the Roy Woodard Entrance to Dunbar Cave. This is terrible news.

Right now, the State owns the Historic Entrance and blocks any exploration into the three (3) miles of cave that is on the Historic side of the sump. The Woodard Entrance is the main entrance into the five (5) miles of caves that is on the other side of the sump.

If the State comes up with the money to buy the Woodard Entrance, cavers can pretty much kiss Dunbar Cave "Good Bye". You will have to be a Biologist to get access.
