As long as your not planning on going there anytime soon since its closed because theres a wildfire at their gates.

Well, that is very disconcerting. I was supposed to head there tomorrow and haven't been told that it is canceled.

One possible reason you haven't heard about the tour cancellations is that the park employees have been evacuated. I know that if I had to evacuate my house, I'd have a heck of a time updating the websites I maintain, or accessing customer info on my computer!

Also as John pointed out, it is extremely hard to contact every visitor to let them know tours are canceled, especially when they are out of the park. Our park experienced the same with the Quail fire here in Utah over July 4th.

Wind Cave is awesome, but patience is going to be your friend.

I think that you are right about the communication issues. However, it sounds like it might open up in time for my actual cave trip (Tuesday)...so I am still hopeful.
