Prehistoric bear skulls found underwater in Mexico

Postby chac » Jan 19, 2012 5:37 pm

From BBC News:

The ancient remains of four prehistoric bears have been uncovered by archaeologists diving in underwater caves in Mexico. Scientists think the extinct species lived in the caves in the ice age before they became filled with water. Human remains were also found.

I'll add that this was documented in the state of Yucatan.

Very cool!
There's nothing that makes me more excited than finding a place underground that no one has ever seen or been in!

Dagum! that global warming stuff. It happened back then from their cooking technique, undoubtedly adding all that CO2 to the atmosphere! Just think, if they had Al Gore around, we could have so much more land to explore. Oceans probably were really just lakes back then. Just think of the ice climbing, WOW!
