Eleven years ago the Skywatcher Clan purchased land near Belleview (and a number of well known caves) to rebuild its tribal nation. The cave was opened and there was on going exploration and mapping. Unfortunately, I do not drive (I get severe motion sickness and can't afford a car or insurance at any rate) and the various drivers have come and gone. The latest having back problems and no one else wants to participate because the tribe's name reminds them of a cult (religious people) even though as a public charity their time is considered a donation and is rewarded with a receipt to use on taxes (usually $80 a trip). Since we have not been able to get up there for over nine months, we decided to sell the properties and try to purchase some of the tribe's original lands closer to home.
The properties are on SE 41 Terr although access to the larger parcel is off of SE126 Place. It is partially fenced with a gate (we have had lots of trespassing and vandalism by both nss members and residents in the area). 250 square feet were claimed from Marion County as they violated a legal agreement with us and violated our Constitutional rights (that is a totally unrelated story). There are small depressions that are 1 ft by 2 foot entrances all over the property. I opened a sink hole and started to explore and map the cave. There is a hidden pocket with formations, a blowing hole to the lower level (which is clogged with clay and debris) which has a mysterious scaly fossil the size of a quarter, and other passage that fills up with much like dirt every four months preventing the continuing mapping of continuing passage. I can provide a copy of the map so far.
There is a shed / dehydrating toilet facility that is not finished. I was lining it with cinder blocks and going to give it a cement roof over the existing wood which is rotting. I did not coat it properly, the ground here is very fertile. There is a foundation for a 24ft by 24 ft cabin. There was a wooden deck for the floor, but this was vandalized and destroyed. Now it is over grown. There are cinder blocks for the shed, cement tools, mixing bin, hand made silicone covered canvas buckets with shoulder straps, ropes, caving tools, gravity chair, deck chairs and lounge chair, buckets, tool box with some basic tools, wood, glass, garbage can, tiki torches, shovels, picks, rakes, sledge hammers, scoops, an axe, rope, winch, coil of barbed wire, signs, a trail camera with SD card that has not been changed in 9 months and a very effective Native American treatment for all types of cancer which grows for three months out of the year. We added aloe plants.
The cave is a very large cave. It may stretch to hole in the wall out on 47th ave to the NE and out passed 36th ave to the SW. It connects to a larger entrance south on SE 41 terr for those who enjoy making holes wide enough for a human to pass. The surface indicators are all over the place. It is a massive cave but we have not been able to get up there on a regular basis and only mapped about 200 feet.
We are asking $15000.
The second parcel is smaller, located near SE 130 St and SE 41terr. There is cave passage underneath, there is an entrance a few hundred feet away across the street and there may be an entrance near its NE property line. We were trying to keep the lands in as natural a state as possible. The surround land owners wanted too much for too little, so we abandoned hopes of rebuilding our nation there. The parcel boarders with a home that is there to the north. We are asking $12000 for that one.
Anyone wanting to visit the properties must attend with the realtor and sign a waiver which must be sent to us before going to the property. The realtor has the keys.
