Caving in Eastern Cuba

Postby ron3yr » Mar 15, 2010 6:35 pm

I received this email from a Cuban friend:

An Adventurous Trip To A Unique Environment; Gibara, Holguin, CUBA

The area is known to cavers as Dolja of the Cemetery, a site rich in a highly endemic flora and fauna and also undescribable scenery. Its main attraction is an unthinkable labyrinth of caves with its principal seduction being “La Cueva De Los Panaderos“ (“Baker’s Cave”) which leads you into a world of fantasy and limestone. A journey of incredible formations inside the cave leads you to the 'lake of the eternal youth' where crystal clear waters are surrounded by legends of all kinds, a place where the edge between daydream and reality dissapears.
If after the visit you are willing to visit other caves in the area, there are more than 28 additional caves at your disposal to explore, crawl through confined galleries, do some rapel?? Or tracking through trails. It is on the outskirts of Gibara, a town locate on the Eastern part of Cuba in the province of Holguin. You can reach through this email: yanarkis@gibara.hlg.sld,cu or write to this address to:
