I grew up in Ringgold, Georgia which is about 30 minutes from Pigeon mountain in Walker county. In the early 1970's my friends and I used to 4 wheel drive to a cave at the base of Pigeon mountain. We would sometimes go in for 2-3 days at a time. I *think* it was called Ellison's cave??
Am I close to the proper name? It is a huge and going cave...anyone have a URL for a map of the cave or any info? It was 30 years ago since I was last there.

Hi Jim,
If it was at the base of Pigeon Mtn, it was probably Pettyjohn Cave. It is still a popular cave. Ellison Cave is up near the top of the mtn. I don't know of a map, but I bet someone does.
btw, your NSS number is huge!
