Carnegie Cave, PA

Postby Ketonquot » Apr 21, 2013 2:25 pm

Yesterday on the 20th, my fourteen year old son, my friend Robert and I took a trip to visit Carnegie cave in Shippensburg, PA. My son has been caving with me, but it was Roberts first trip. The cave treated us to a belly crawl through some ice cold water about 5 minutes in. The caves we had been to previously were fairly dry so this was new to us. Once you got used to the idea that you were one with the mud, all was good. We spent several hours exploring every nook and cranny of the system. Saw a few bats, frogs, and even a small slimy salamander. Probably the best Saturday ever. We came out of the cave completely brown, and with Robert a new caving enthusiast. A big thank you to Franklin County Grotto for the nice map. If I could have went back today, I would in a heartbeat. Just wanted to share, hope everyone has had a great weekend like we have :kewl:
