Indiana's longest cave now roughly one mile longer!

BREAKING NEWS! On Saturday May 14th Dave Everton and the Indiana Speleological Survey (as featured in NSS News in Feb and March 2011) established and surveyed a connection between Guy Stover Pit cave and Binkley cave near Corydon Indiana (via a 200' tight muddy miserable waterfilled low airspace bellycrawl). This adds roughly a mile to Binkley, which is now over 26 miles in total surveyed passage. What may be more important is much quicker (although not necessarily easier) access to the furthest reaches of Binkley, which previously was an 8 hour round trip not including time spent working leads or survey. Now that this area of Binkley is more accessable, the long sought after connection to nearby Blowing Hole cave may be one step closer to reality. The official trip report is not yet out, but will be posted to the ISS page which can be found here: http://mypage.iu.edu/~deverton/Binkley/binkley.htm
