Does anyone have a good recommendation for a CO2 measuring instrument?

Are you looking for an in-situ datalogger or a one time personal monitor that you take in with you and take out.

We are using a personal monitor for our gas monitoring project.

I am looking for a handheld unit to carry with me that will readout in ppm. So far I have only found one that will go higher than 5000 ppm. It goes 0 to 30,000 ppm.

Why in particular are you looking for a CO2 meter? Do you also care about other dangerous gasses? CO, SO2, and S2O are all even more dangerous in caving and mining. Do you need to know about these as well?

I mainly want to test a wild cave with a stream at the bottom. The stream goes underground about 1/4 mile from the cave.

When we went in the cave we were all breathing quickly. From my reading, it seems to indicate elevated levels of CO2.

I would like recommendations for what gasses that I should be testing for and the equipment needed to perform those tests.

Thanks!!!

I have been looking at a tester that has a range of 0 to 30,000 ppm (0 to 3%).

They get pretty pricy for a meter that sensitive. http://www.co2meter.com/products/sensea ... -co2-meter

That is the one I was looking at. Does anyone recommend any other models?
