A falling rock crushed a local cave explorer this weekend, but a massive rescue effort brought him alive out of the guts of Fang Mountain.
The man was hit and critically injured on Saturday in the middle of the afternoon. He was finally passed up to a Canadian military helicopter in the darkness of Sunday morning by about 100 helping hands on the ground....

For the entire story see link above.

The cave is Fang Cave, and my understanding is that the bulk of the hard work was done by cavers with only the final evac really done by the military. I'll forward an email contct to you as requested.

I wish the injured person a speedy recovery -I sorry to hear someone got hurt so badly.Thankfully the West Coast and Alberta area cavers are very experienced in rescue and caving-kudos to all involved to make the rescue successful!

Ray
I do believe that I forwarded a very detailed accounting of this rescue to you via the "ACA Editor" email from the NSS website. On this forum, Jansen should have a copy that I forwarded to him.
Please PM me if you still need this.
