Bubbling this up.

It's coming and instructor assignments are being handed out. (Speaking of which, no one told me "latrine digging" was an instructor assignment, but oh well :-) )

Seriously, right now we have many more instructors than students. And the LAST thing you want is instructors trying to teach each other. Before you know it you get fist fights breaking out over whether a left-handed figure 8 is better than a right-handed figure 8 and the correct application of prusiks on a counter-balance. And you do NOT want to see the discussions on the best load releasing hitch! That can go on for hours.

So sign up now, before the price goes up. You KNOW you want to go.

For those concerned about WNS, there are currently plans to have decon stations at the start and end of the week. The caves are on private property and not bat hibernaculums and as a result pretty much immune to closure.

So sign up now!

I'm going. Who else is? And the left handed figure 8 is clearly superior!

I'm sure your wife would prefer you to have limited knot knowledge instead of supreme knot knowledge.

I'm signed up. :wtg:

Hmmm, looks like this year it will be "fun with Roger and Greg" over in the twos club.

Hope the bumps and cracks are healing up, Roger. Greg's cracks are internal, so there's not much we can do about that. :tonguecheek:

Mrs. Kennedy is sending the check for my Level 3 registration today. Still room in the course!
I just hope the WNS doesn't spread to IN.

BTW, I'll have to bring some injectable haloperidol for any "actors" during the mock :bananabat:

Is there any word yet on what the "official" decon procedures will be at the National NCRC weeklong this year?
All new gear, lysol, bleach, hot water, etc?

Would you settle for semi-official?

There will be a decon station setup both at the start and end of the week. However, all cavers are still encouraged to show up with clean gear. None of the caves we'll be in are known bat hibernaculums which should reduce the risk.

Note, any CAVERS shown up with white fuzz around their own noses are subject to immediate decon using new and innovate methods. :-)

I haven't talked to the folks in charge in about 2 weeks, but that's what we discussed then. I believe the mailing will go into detail on this.

That's all I know for now. I'll update more as I know more or I'm sure there's 1 or 2 others that may know more before I do and may update (though at least one is less attached to his computer than I am ;-)
