4 Found Safe, Pulled From Tenn. Cave

Postby Ray Keeler » Mar 23, 2008 1:37 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone have more information on the Rainbow Cave rescue. The article is vague in several areas. Any info would be appreciated. e.g. what equipment the spelunkers had, who called them in as missing, which rescue team, who was on the rescue, injuries (if any), you know the drill. If you can send additional insite, please email me aca@caves.org or fill out an incident report at http://www.caves.org/pub/aca/acaform.html

thanks and stay safe,

4 Found Safe, Pulled From Tenn. Cave

(AP) TOWNSEND, Tenn. - Rescuers found four cavers cold and wet but otherwise safe on Friday after they didn’t return as planned from an overnight spelunking trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Knoxville television station WATE News has a nice follow-up article and video report on their web site http://www.wate.com about the Rainbow Cave rescue last month. It features an interview with Knoxville cave rescue team member David Brace, as well as photos taken in-cave during the rescue.

The article and video can be found at:
