Located just miles from the TAG Fall Cave-in site and early enough in the year that it won't be too hot, this should be a good one.

Scott - will you be making it to this one, or are you just getting in early and starting the thread like you did last time...?

I am hoping to make this one and the other one in VA. We'll see if it actually happens this time.

I dang better be able to make this one!

I'll still be living in the DC area so most likely I'll end up driving down by myself, but I'll still have a jump on the drive than if I left from upstate NY.

The Virginia one, would be nice to make, but I think the wife might balk at me taking THAT much time off. :-)

Lets see...you have Lvl1, would take Lvl2 May in AL, plans for what Level in VA?

I suspect that the VA Weeklong will only be Lvl1 (maybe Lvl2). I've not seen the "official" seminar paperwork and request. Not my job to see the request for a Seminar. :-) (but I generally have an inside track on such things, seeing that Berta is the NCRC Financial Officer  ) Seminar authorization is by the NCRC Training Coordinator (Steve Hudson). But NCRC Level III (& Instructor Qualification) courses are generally offered only at National Seminars.
Authorization to teach NCRC Level III or Instructor Qualification courses may be granted only by the NCRC Board of Regional Coordinators. (thats my job :tonguecheek: ) They may be delivered regionally only under special circumstances detailed in this PDF on the NCRC web site.

So plans to take Lvl3 in VA may not be in the offering. But who knows...I am only speculating. There would have to be the request made to the BORC for a Lvl3 (which I don't know if there is even any plans for) then the BORC would have to discuss that request at our winter meeting. :boxing:

But Scott...I'll see you in AL! :waving: (and at the Cave-In?)

Then I'll just take L3 in AL and L2 in VA. :tonguecheek:

Oh well, I'll take what I can, wherever. And like everyone keeps pointing out, there is still a long time until these events.

Tim - funny you should mention that. I was wondering about that regional level 3 thing yesterday when I checked out the Eastern Region website. There's no specific page on their upcoming weeklong yet, but on their general page they do list and describe all 3 levels plus OCR and the Wilderness bridge for EMTs.

Oh well, it's not like it's a race to get to level 3.

Attending? And IQ notification

So who will be going?

And reminder, all people who are qualified to apply for the IQ program should have received an email by now. Applications for the IQ program must be in by January 15th.

In order to be able to apply, you must have completed the Level 3 class within the last 4 years.

And please keep in mind, this is an application, not a registration. If you are accepted into the program you will be notified by February 15th and will have until April 15th to complete your actual registration.

(Also note, that even if accepted, the class will only be taught if there are enough students who will be in attendance.)

If you believe you are qualified to apply and did NOT receive the application packet via email, please contact me OFF-LIST (see my profile for my email address) and we'll figure out where you stand. (It's entirely possible some emails bounced or some are blackholed. I do know that Tricia will make valiant attempts to contact people, but she's only human after all. :-)

I'll be there, as usual...

And Tricia is a key part of what holds NCRC together, I count her as superhuman. Not
bad for a gig no one gets paid for...
