LJ is referring to the Lvl 3 SRT Entry Criteria....
“Ascend 10 meters, passing a knot, down climb two meters, change over to rappel and descend, passing a knot. “

If I am not mistaken it will be rigged so that you can climb the 30ish feet to the knot. If the height is not enough, the know can be tied right at the pulley (on the climbers side) and you are lowered as you climb the 30 ft to the knot.
Be safe,

That’s what I was figuring. Have the pulley just over 20’ up, knot up against the pulley, pass the knot as it comes down and you go up, stop up near the pulley which should put the knot ~10’ off the ground, then rappel passing the knot.

Simple enough. I assume the knot will be traditional SRT style with a loop in it. Not that it really matters if you have an extra QAS.

Thanks,

L.J.

My understanding is that the goal was to have some form of Internet connectivity. This is primarily for the office, but generally people have been welcome to connect wirelessly when it's been available.

Unfortunately it appears my cell data connection won't work.

Oh well. Nice to have that as a backup.

Yes.

Great cave.

Students had a blast and did a great job. They got the one mock injured patient out about an hour sooner than most of the instructors expected. So that's great.

Awesome view from the entrance over the New River Valley.

Only downside.. there's NOTHING flat up there to set stage from. I felt like a mountain goat! :-)

I'll let students comment on their experiences.
