Blah blah blah cross-loaded carabiner blah blah trail of dead bodies blah blah blah knots are better blah blah no they're not blah blah screw links. And that's all I have to say about that.

Yah, OK. Whatever man. Like exploding biners - wow. Never seen that, but sure, you know, it could happen sometime. Maybe. And people tie knots wrong sometimes too, you know? Really. And screwlinks, well, what happens if you don't screw them all the way, or they come unscrewed, you dig? Yep - heartbreaker. Hate it when that happens, but it does happen. Damn.

Skilled rescuers have the tools and knowledge to make good decisions appropriate to the circumstances. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for cave rescue. Wish there were, but if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
