I just learned that Huntsville caver and rocket scientist John French, NSS7846, passed away on July 25th. John was one of the early members of the Huntsville Grotto during the Golden Years of Caving. He will be missed. John was 84 years old.

This is sad news. I was fortunate to be in China with John and his wife. I will miss him and will remember his smile in the back of Cathedral Caverns as he spoke of the wonders of that cave.
