Caves are rare and precious things. Cavers...even more so. Treat each accordingly.
NSS#42385(not current...give me a reason to change...(Sept 2010))

The Virginia Region of the NSS (VAR) had requested that the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest caves be allowed to re-open, part of USFS Southern Region (R8)). Unfortunately, they denied this request. We received an email response prior to the order being reissued explaining their rationale, and are now waiting for the formal written response, which we will post on the WNS website.

Some one year closures last a loooonnnnggg time. Matter of fact, I don't recall any one year cave closures that were actually for one year.

Surprise...... surprise, surprise. I try to keep positive. It could have said May 21, 2020. ( even thought it probably will be)
