I do believe that finding WNS in Alabama is going to be rare since it appears that it is warmer than the Gd fungus likes to thrive, but it is certainly possible that a lone bat could find its way there. If that occurs, it doesn't mean that it will spread. There are so many cavers traveling between TAG (where some cases of WNS have been spotted), and there should have been tremendous spread of infection if cavers could spread it. There have been instances of lone bats infected with Gd in years past, and absolutely no spreading has happened. One good outcome will be a better understanding of what bats, and how many winter over in these caves.

I want to add, Ann F. if you are reading this, Why continue to allure to humans spreading WNS in every article that you have been involved with? Do you have information that is not known by the rest of us? Are you getting paid to make these statements?
