This topic is for posting and discussing Speleo-Museum objects and their history. The museum is seeking information such as...

What is the object?
What is the story behind the object?
Who donated the object to the museum?
When was the object donated to the museum?
any other related information

Amber,

I'm sure you will get a response from someone, but I want to say that this is likely going to be a very, very fun section on the forum.

Please keep up the good work.

I would email Emily (Speleobooks). I bet she would know the history or could direct you to someone that does. :kewl:

I sent Emily an email with the picture enclosed but haven't gotten a reply yet. I also found a link to the McFail's management group but it bounced, so I don't have any leads there now.

This is the kiosk that was posted at the cave. There is a cave map inside.

Question: Not to hijack the thread but I have what I *think* is a first issue of the precursor to the NSS News. Would it be acceptable to post a picture/s here or is this restricted to actual museum possessions and I should start another thread?

This forum is only for museum items but you can post in general caving topics.

Actually, this forum is for the "NSS Archives", and that would certainly include the NSS News precursor pubs or other related "Archive" items. Post away.

These two pictures are Gurnee Cans (2008.159.1). As with all items in the NSS Collection, I am looking for information on items history, use, ownership, value, etc. In addition, I am attempting to digitally document the sources for our items.
