Vertical Theives use SRT to Rob Best Buy

Postby Scott McCrea » Mar 4, 2010 1:24 pm

Well, it doesn't say if they used SRT. I made that up. But, they had to get out somehow. For some reason, I doubt they did it the way the detective thinks, "They never set off any motion sensors. They never touched the floor. They rappelled in and rappelled out." At least they spelled it right.

Where can I get one of the devices they used to "rappel out"? Climbing out is too much work. I want to rappel into a pit and then rappel back out. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

They rappelled in and rappelled out.

This must be what the detective means by "High level of sophistication".

This happened at a place I worked in the early 90's. The thieves cut a hole in the roof and came down to a specific spot without setting off the motion sensors. It was obvious they'd cased the joint before. They grabbed a bunch of stuff from this one spot and sent it all out the roof. I'm guessing they used SRT or some sort of ladder to do the deed.

If you guys figure out how rappel up let me know because it would sure save a lot of work!

It was 75 million and the Lilly warehouse was in Conn. They cut a hole in the roof and rappelled in and disabled the alarm and backed a truck up.
It only takes one person to surrender a dog to a kill shelter ,but it takes many to rescue it.

Rappelling counterbalance...
You set up a rappelling counterbalance so that your rappelling counterbalancer(s) rappel off the side of the building. Then have the inside man rappel in lock off, grab the goods and the counterbalancer(s) bring him out. No need to ascend out of the Best Buy.
